About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead with extensive experience in insurance applications, either General Insurance or Life Insurance; or both. This role involves leading a team of developers, overseeing the design and deployment of high-quality software solutions, and ensuring alignment with business goals and industry standards. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and excellence in our insurance solutions.
Your responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of developers, ensuring adherence to best practices, code quality, and sound architectural decisions.
Application Development: Lead the end-to-end development process for general and life insurance applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and comply with industry standards.
Mobile App Development: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of mobile applications for insurance solutions, ensuring optimal performance across various platforms (iOS, Android)
Architecture and Design: Define, refine, and implement technical architectures that prioritize scalability, reliability, and security. Explore and integrate new technologies to enhance application performance and capabilities.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver projects that meet objectives.
Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and implement robust testing strategies to ensure software quality. Manage technical debt and optimize application performance.
Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion.
Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for technical specifications, system designs, and development processes to ensure knowledge continuity.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and resolve production issues, collaborating with support teams to address complex problems efficiently.
Compliance and Security: Ensure all applications comply with industry regulations and security standards, particularly regarding data protection and privacy within the insurance sector.
You will have
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in software development, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. Prior experience with general insurance applications is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in insurance applications (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, Swift, Kotlin).
Familiarity with insurance industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and integration technologies.
Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and tools for deployment and monitoring.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
Soft Skills:
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with core insurance systems such as policy administration and claims management.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience leading Agile teams.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline management.
