About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and tracking quality assurance metrics, designing test automation frameworks, and ensuring that all testing is carried out efficiently and meets the company's standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, and proficiency in technical testing tools.
Your responsibilities
Quality Assurance Framework:
Implement and maintain the QC framework, focusing on establishing and tracking quality assurance metrics.
Design test cases and increase test coverage through effective automation strategies.
Test Automation:
Write and maintain scripts for automation testing, including functional and regression testing.
Design, develop, and execute bespoke test automation frameworks tailored to various projects and products.
Compliance & Documentation:
Identify deviations from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
Ensure all test procedures are well-documented to guarantee reusability and compliance with company standards.
Document software defects using a tracking system and communicate issues to the development team.
Testing & Validation:
Perform static testing to validate the accuracy and completeness of requirements.
Define and prepare essential documents, including Requirement Review Checklists, Requirement Traceability Matrices, Test Scenarios, and Test Cases.
Build and update the Application Regression Test Suite in line with current requirements.
Execute all testing types as documented in the test plan, including smoke tests, functional tests, non-functional tests, performance tests, and security tests.
Ensure systematic testing, log test failures, and verify that all issues are retested.
Collaboration & Communication:
Facilitate the handshake from SIT/QA to UAT, including sharing Test Cases, Test Results, and Defect Logs with business users.
Lead regular defect triage meetings to prioritize and address critical defects.
Continuous Improvement:
Conduct regression testing at the end of each testing phase, adjusting the scope based on changes in functionality.
Perform causal analysis of defects raised during various testing phases, particularly escaped defects.
Review the quality of each test phase in collaboration with all impacted stakeholders.
You will have
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in automation testing, with a strong foundation in test management and defect management.
Skills
Strong analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Agile and SDLC methodologies.
Experience with technical testing tools such as Selenium, Sauce Labs, and Jira.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to create clear, concise reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of General and Life insurance domains is an advantage.
